FROST
At this time I wanted to really get good at portraits in Fukari's art style so I could create a Fiverr account and start selling commissions. This sample was created referencing the stock photo 'Make punk' by PaquinhatwJr.

SUMMER
The lyrics are from 'In The Summertime' by Mungo Jerry, 1970
I wanted a very bright, cheerful atmosphere for this. I really like the bright cyan sky.
This is a redrawing of a much older artwork. I remember that original 2009 version, I did the sketch on lined paper at school.

PRETTY PLEASEThis one is inspired by Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad film. I've always been a Harley fan, and while I don't love every aspect of the movie (*cough*JaredLetoastheJoker*cough*), I found Robbie to be enjoyably perky, capable and crazy.
This particular drawing is actually based off a photo I took of myself cosplaying as that version of Harley. This design is available for sale at the following link: |
STARDUST
This design was specifically seeded by the idea of wanting to make a unique and visually stand-out t-shirt design. I wanted to have a message that I believed in. And that message is, that we are quite literally made of stardust. We are all the same on the inside. I love galaxies and nebulas, so it seemed a logical choice to have a silhouette filled with such imagery. The nudity is honesty, it is how we are born into the world, our rawest selves.

SAY CHEESE! はい、チーズ!
Another design purposely for selling on sites like Society6 and Redbubble, this one was inspired by the ultra cute Fujifilm Instax instant camera. I don't own one, but I've seen them for sale in Kmart catalogs and such. I really like the rounded corners and pastel colours. This I combined with the humble selfie, and my interest in Japanese kawaii culture, and you get this cute design!

CUTE & CRAZYMy first t-shirt design inspired by the Robbie interpretation of Harley Quinn. Another work based on a photo of me in cosplay (my pigtails weren't quite that voluminous of course!), this is very pastel and sweet, while obviously keeping an edge through the rude gesture and spiky cuffs.
This was also my first time seriously using ArtRage. I wanted my design to be very symmetrical, and Photoshop didn't/doesn't have an easy way to implement this live, so I turned to other alternatives, and ArtRage was the only one to offer perfect live symmetry, along any defined axis. That feature, along with the spectacular auto-smoothing that can be turned up and down, really sold me. For sale on: |
DRAMA KARMA SCOUTS
I have made some brilliant friends in Drama Karma, the acting/improv group I joined this year. They are so cheerful, snarky, supportive and silly. And we work together very well. We're like a team... or like the Sailor Scouts! (I'm the one on the right).
In designing the outfits for these scouts, I used Dolldivine's Sailor Senshi Maker 3 dressup game.

ROYALS
This is another artwork dedicated to my drama friends. The story behind it is - we are planning to branch into the wonderful world of YouTube with some dramatic and comedic (mostly comedic) skits. Everyone was asked to come up with ideas. One idea that was raised involved Disney princes and princesses. I took the ball and ran with it, producing a script which put us into those iconic roles. So I drew this to somewhat tie-in with that inspiration. The linework was hand-drawn in pen, then vectorised in Illustrator, and tidied up in Photoshop. |
