almost happiness
This artwork was created as an entry for a contest hosted by Darren Hayes. He was going to create a music video for his latest album at the time, Secret Codes and Battleships. The album is sincerely emotional and really spoke to me. This artwork was particularly influenced by the song The Siren's Call, and the lyric 'I can almost taste happiness / It's such a long way off / But I can almost feel your embace / Above the siren's call'.
The competition ended up aborted for unknown reasons, but that's okay.

obsessive tendancies
This self portrait was partially inspired by The Joker Blogs. I imagined myself as an obsessive patient within Arkham Asylum.
Although now, looking back on this, I look more like an extra on Orange is the New Black.

the only one
Have you even felt when listening to a song that it must be about you, the lyrics fit so perfectly, it hits your heart so directly? That's how Darren Hayes' music makes me feel. As if he was right there, embracing me, acknowledging that my emotions are valid and real.
hero
Fan-art of Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect. During my first playthrough of the first game, my Shepard totally had a crush on him. (But then she screwed Liara instead. And then fell in love with Thane in the second game. So much drama!)
breath of fresh air
Practicing traditional coloured pencil art, using as a reference, THIS photo by ArielSeabright on DeviantArt. At the time, I considered her to be one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen in my life.
dead serious
This is a drawing of my OC Dara Matthews. She is a vampire, out to find her missing brother.
birthday bookmarks
These were created as gifts for two of my best friends. I always liked how the three of us were like a chromatic set - the blonde, the brunette, the dark hair (slash whatever hairdye she could get her hands on).
