ferris bueller posterThis was an entry for a competition hosted by GraphicStock.com. The goal - to create an 80s-style movie poster, utilising the site's stock imagery. I chose Ferris Bueller's Day Off because it is a movie I am familiar with and enjoy.

the changing tide
This is an interpretation of my OC Casey Durie.
stewie moonSeveral years ago, I attained some fame for drawing Sailor Moon characters essentially being cosplayed by Family Guy characters. As I left my first deviantArt account, I forgot about the interest in those works for a while. But then I remembered. And looking back at the art, it wasn't very good. It was tracing over screenshots that weren't very high quality to begin with.
So I tried doing it better. And I think it worked! For sale on: |
there's a lot of vampires out there
This piece was a concept illustration for a Batman fanfiction I was writing (not yet released). The 'look' for this Joker is 100% lovingly inspired by the cosplayer Anthony Misiano.
2015 squadA gift for my sister, illustrating her favourite actors, singers and personalities of the time. In no particular order:

nasturtium ruleA TAFE project required me to design a fictional album cover for a fictional band named Nasturtium Rule. (The flowers pictured are nasturtiums). I came up with several possible ideas, and this was the one I finally went with, the flower pinned inside a museum display, preserving it's beauty and significance for future generations, but morbidly pinned down, dead.
A more simple concept is pictured below. |
tarot cards
Another TAFE assignment. This one was based on designing the faces of some cards, either standard playing cards or tarot cards. I was drawn to the latter, plus I own a set of Tarot cards so I am familiar with them. I wanted to go for an Art Nouveau look, reminiscent of the works of the fantastic artist Alphonse Mucha.
Before settling on the Nouveau idea, the assignment asked me to concept other ideas. One of those was a futuristic sci-fi look inspired by Eric Tan's retro poster designs.
domesticityThis TAFE assignment required me to create an artwork based on the word 'domesticity'. My personal feelings on the subject - it's a never ending pit of things to do, dragging you down, sapping your energy. I believe my choice of colours and textures reflects that. The many parallel lines are created with the tines of a fork. The whole image was made with black ink and acrylic paint.

feelingPart two of the aforementioned assignment, this time to create a work based around a feeling. I chose lust, desire. My interpretation, lust is like a volcanic lava or molten rock under the skin, boiling, desperately hungry for another. When the two compatible bodies are near eachother, energy is abundant between them. Is it waves, a fair exchange of energy, or is it parasitic fibres, leeching what they can from the other person to feel better?
Rendered in red and black acrylic paint, and charcoal, and collage. |
beautiful garbage
For this photography assignment, I was inspired by the mess that came to feel like home to me, while staying with my boyfriend. The title was taken from the song 'Celebrity Skin' by Hole.
